Attorney Powers has been practicing law since 1984. She focuses her practice primarily on Estate Planning and Elder Law issues.
She is a native of the Pioneer Valley where she was born and raised, graduating from Trinity College in Burlington Vermont, pursuing her Juris Doctorate from Western New England College, and becoming certified as a Financial Planner through the College of Financial Planning.
Mary started her career as a trust officer for Bank of New England West preparing estate plans for various bank customers while working with their legal and tax consultants. She then continued her experience at Monarch Life Insurance Company where she provided legal support and documentation on various life and disability income plans.
She then opened her own Estate Planning and Elder Law practice in 1993. Here Attorney Powers has become an expert in Estate Planning and Elder Law issues both as they relate to MassHealth applications and the creation of Trusts – Revocable, Irrevocable, and Special Needs.
